ABOUT US

Helloooo there!

Welcome to Southern Mom Diaries.

I started this blog because of a communications class in undergrad and over the past few years, I have changed and molded it into what it is now.

I am currently a graduate student with a graduation date of May 2016. I hope to then continue my education in a Doctoral program. I was born and raised Catholic in the deep south. I stuck to Catholicism and my son is starting his first year at the same private Catholic school I went to. Which makes me incredibly sad he is old enough to start Pre-K but, also so excited about all the new and adventurous things that are ahead.

I have delved into the world of books the past few years. I edited, formatted, and self-published a collection of poetry that my dad wrote. It was an incredible experience and insight into the creation of books. I am currently putting together the second collection of poetry that he just got done writing. We will see how this one turns out! I would like to eventually finish some of my own work within the next few years.

This blog is about our lives as a family. We love to travel. We are leaving for NYC again in September. We do a lot of exploring in this beautiful state of Arkansas that we call home. I write about DIY activities for kids and parents, random old things I find and life’s adventures. But, most posts are about parenting as a single mom and the best thing that has ever happened to me, my son.

So browse around and leave a comment or two, I would love to hear from you! Β Thanks for stopping by!

  3. I was checking out some of your post and would like to say good luck in the future with finishing the book. Sometimes all we need is that spark to get us going again. Maybe writing something new maybe about your own child will spark the interest in the other project you’re working on.

  4. Hi Tiffany,

I am with Cooking Channel and we are currently casting for a new TV show (temporarily) called “Foodie Fanatics”. The show is a celebration of people who have an over-the-top obsession (in a good way) with specific food items. I stumbled accross your blog and noticed you have a healthy obsession with lemons and I would like to explore that passion and potentially get you involved with the show.

Listed below is my personal contact information, If you are interested in this opportunity to share you love for lemons with fellow fanatics, feel free to contact me back and we can start getting you involved. Also, I would like to send you a short questionnaire about your passion so if you could supply me with a reachable email address that would be great!

    1. Colby,
Thank you for your inquire about my lemon addiction! I actually stopped eating lemons a few months ago! I started to see they were damaging my pretty teeth! It wasn’t fun but, I gave them up! I hope you can find some interesting food addictions and create a great show! I will be excited to watch it!
      Thanks again,
      Tiffany

  5. Thank you for liking, commenting and the follow! I love reading any book written by a veteran or true stories on the history of wars. My grandfather was a veteran in USAF, POW in WWII, Korean War and loved to fly. So, any book of this subject I can’t put down! I will have to mark your dad’s book on my list to read. Following you back! πŸ™‚
